NEW DELHI: Over the years, Google has introduced some interesting features in its default messaging app — Google Messages.
Recently, the tech giant rolled out end-to-end encryption in its default messaging app. Now, it is giving you the ability to change the font size in a conversation thread.
As reported by 9to5Google, the company is now introducing a pinch-to-zoom feature which will change the font size in Google Messages for Android. The feature is pretty easy to use and you can start by opening any thread on the app.
Users can just pinch out using two fingers which will increase the text present in the current window. All the timestamps and the message bubbles will adjust accordingly. If you want to return to the default size then you simply have to pinch-in to return.
It is interesting to note that the users cannot adjust the size of the text while the keyboard is open. Also the current font size applies to all the conversations threads, but the main list view is unchanged.
The ability to change the font size was reported today and presently it is not clear when the feature will be available for all the Android users.
Recently, an online report revealed that Google is all set to roll out the ability to star and pin messages in the Google Messages app.
According to a code spotted by XDA Developers Google is working on the ability which will enable users to pin chats to the top of the app. XDA Developers found the code in the recent teardown of version 8.1.050 of the Google Messages APK. This is the stable version of the app which is presently running on the updated Android devices.
