instagram reels ads: You will now see ads in Instagram Reels – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Facebook-owned Instagram launched Reels — its TikTok rival — last year. With Instagram Reels, you can create short musical video formats like the ones found on TikTok. It also allows you to record and edit 15-second video clips.
Now, the company has introduced ads in Reels. The 30-seconds long ads will appear in between clips. The ads will come with a small ‘sponsored’ tag along with the name of the advertiser’s account.
Instagram started testing the ads in April this year in India, Australia, Brazil and Germany.
Same as the Instagram Reels, the full screen ads will loop and users will also be able to comment, like and save them.
The company claims that the ads will help businesses reach greater audiences, allowing people to discover inspiring new content from brands and creators.
In an official blog post, Justin Osofsky, Instagram Chief Operating Officer said, “We see Reels as a great way for people to discover new content on Instagram, and so ads are a natural fit. Brands of all sizes can take advantage of this new creative format in an environment where people are already being entertained.”
“Just like any other ad on Instagram, we will also provide people with controls on the Reels ads they see. If people see an ad they don’t like, they can skip the ad, or tap the menu on the post to hide or report it,” adds the company.
Recently, it was reported that Instagram will soon roll out a new feature in Reels in order to give tough competition to TikTok. According to Android and iOS developer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is considering offering monetary bonuses to Reel users.
