As the launch of the iPhone 13 lineup is getting closer and closer, more and more Information about the upcoming iPhone lineup is being tipped online.
The latest scoop comes from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has shared an investors note, according to a report by MacRumors.
The report claims that the two top-end models of the iPhone 13 lineup — likely to be called iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max — are set to get an upgraded ultra-wide camera with autofocus. Compared to the current models that offer fixed focal ultra-wide cameras, this should be a considerable upgrade.
The autofocus lens should be able to capture images that are crisper and sharper, irrespective of the distance of the subject from the lens.
Further, the ultra-wide lens on the iPhone 13 Pro is said to come with six elements instead of five, which is expected to result in better images and videos.
While the upgraded ultra-wide angle camera is expected to come to the Pro models for now, it is also tipped that by 2022, this feature will come to all iPhone models.
iPhone 13 series: Expected launch date
A recent report by PhoneArena that Apple is likely to launch the new iPhone series in the third week of September. This was based on the research note shared by Wedbush analyst Dan Ives.
iPhone 13 series: Expected prices
A recent report by TrendForce claimed that there won’t be any major difference in the launch prices of iPhone 13 and those of the iPhone 12. This means that the starting price of the iPhone 13 lineup is also expected to be $699.
iPhone 13 series: Or iPhone 12s?
Another thing that has come to light is that we may not see an iPhone 13 this year, as they may be called iPhone 12s instead.
A survey by SellCell that was conducted earlier this month showed that a lot of Apple fans are apparently not happy with the name iPhone 13 as 13 is considered as an unlucky number and want Apple to call it iPhone 2021 instead. If not the iPhone 2021, people are also fine with names like iPhone 12S, iPhone 14 or iPhone 21.
