NEW DELHI: HMD Global, the company which holds the license to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones has expanded its product lineup with the launch of its first rugged smartphone in the XR series.
Dubbed Nokia XR20, the smartphone comes with IP68 rating which makes the smartphone waterproof. The smartphone also comes with a sleek casing and military grade certification.
The company claims that the smartphone can withstand 1.5m drop and can be submerged in 1.5m water for 30 minutes. Nokia XR20 also comes with a programmable button placed on the top which enables users to access most frequent tasks.
Nokia XR20 comes with a starting price tag of $550 (Rs 40,880) and it will be available in the US starting August 24. The company has not yet revealed the global availability details of the smartphone.

Nokia XR20 comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Vitucs on top. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM.
Nokia XR20 comes in two storage variants — 64GB and 128GB. Users can further expand the storage up to 512GB by adding a microSD card. The handset comes with hybrid dual SIM support and runs Android 11 operating system.
Nokia XR20 sports a dual rear camera with 48MP main sensor with f/1.79 aperture with Zeiss optics and a 13MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front is home to an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone is backed by a 4630mAh battery with 18W wired fast charging and 15W Qi-enabled wireless charging support.
