Samsung stops selling the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the US – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Rumours suggest that Samsung is all set to launch its next generation Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone in August. Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the company is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the latest Galaxy Watch 3 series.
Now, ahead of the official launch, Samsung has stopped selling the Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone. According to a report by 9to5 Google, Samsung has stopped selling the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the US.
The company has not yet confirmed that it has discontinued the foldable smartphone. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is still available for purchase, but the customers cannot buy the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Recently, the company also slashed the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in India. Post the price cut, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 costs Rs 1,34,999. This means that the handset has got a price cut of Rs 15,000 as it was launched at Rs 1,49,999 last year.
To recall, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 offers a 7.6-inch fullHD+ foldable, Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O main display and a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Flex secondary display. The foldable smartphone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC, coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
This move of the company hints that it is planning to launch the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 in August. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. The smartphone is also said to come with support for Samsung’s hybrid S Pen which is improved to work on an ultra thin glass display.
